With deep sorrow and profound gratitude, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Elroy Leach—a faithful minister, a tireless servant, and a beacon of light to the Austin Church of Christ and the communities of West Garfield and Austin.
Dr. Leach was more than a preacher; he was a shepherd to many, a counselor, a friend, and a steady guide through both the joys and storms of life. As a devoted leader in the Lord’s church, his unwavering commitment to the Gospel touched countless lives. His words, his wisdom, and his walk with Christ reflected the heart of a true servant of God.
Among his many contributions, Dr. Leach’s summer camp ministry stands as a testament to his dedication to youth and to the future of the Church. Through those summers, many young people found fellowship, mentorship, and ultimately gave their lives to Christ through baptism. His efforts planted seeds that will continue to bear fruit for generations.
Though his passing has brought deep pain to all who knew him, we take comfort in the promises of Scripture. We are reminded, as the Apostle Paul wrote, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” We also rest in the assurance that Dr. Leach fought the good fight, he finished his course, and he kept the faith. A crown of righteousness surely awaits him.
The Maypole Church of Christ extends our heartfelt condolences to the Leach family. Please know that our prayers, love, and support are with you during this time of grief. We mourn with you, but we do not mourn as those without hope—for we know that God is faithful, and His servant now rests in eternal peace.
Dr. Elroy Leach’s legacy will live on through every soul he touched, every life he uplifted, and every heart he led closer to Christ.
May God grant him rest, and may He comfort all who mourn.
